LIGNA 2025
26th to 30th May 2025 in Hanover, Germany

"Linking people, driving innovation": According to the organizer, the world's leading trade fair for the woodworking and wood-processing industry celebrated its 50th anniversary with 1,433 exhibitors from 49 countries and around 78,000 visitors from 156 countries. This year's main topics included sustainability and artificial intelligence.
Once again this year, the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research WKI, together with the iVTH, presented innovative research and development work in the field of “Wood | Renewable Raw Materials.” The joint exhibition stand in Hall 26 offered information on numerous research projects and practical solutions. The iVTH provided information on the recycling of MDF/HDF, while the Fraunhofer WKI exhibits included, for instance, a newly developed facade element for sustainable construction using Robinia and Kiri wood, as well as insulation materials based on renewable raw materials. Bio-based flame-retardant solutions for wood and hybrid materials, as well as sustainable wind turbines, were also featured at the exhibition.
